Anita Beaney is a freelance photographer based in Melbourne.

After completing a BA in Art History and Classics at Melbourne Uni, Anita went back to university to study Commercial Photography at RMIT. After assisting numerous photographers for several years, she started up a photographic business with her husband, which has been running for eleven years (though Ben moved on to direct TV commercials).

Anita specialises in portraiture and fashion (editorial, advertising and corporate). She loves the job because it is always different, she is always experiencing something new and meeting someone new.

For her personal work she’s interested in portraiture and using photography to find out something about people. She is also very interested in old photographic processes and for this she likes
to use her 5x4 field camera with large format polaroid which gives a painterly feel.

When she is not on assignment, Anita is busy being entertained by
her five year old daughter Leila-Jean, two year old son Clark and husband Ben.
